Passive damping trials begin

The first test parts made from γTiAl have been produced on the Optomec machine at the AMRC using powders from MBN. The next step is to carry out a number of builds with different parameters to see which settings produce dense, crack-free parts.

Optomec machine arrives at AMRC

The Optomec blown powder machine has arrived at the AMRC. The LENS MR7 system comes with a 500W laser, dual powder feed and a thermal imaging camera as well as a closed loop control system. Once it's up and running, we will be able to begin trials with the first batches of powder from MBN.
